- Job Duties: Place phone calls to previously designated, receptive people in our database and educate them on specific environmental issues in their geographic area.
- Minimum Skill Requirement: Good communication skills, passionate about environmental issues and generally informed about climate change/global warming.
- Preferred Skills: Computer literate (Excel, Word), good people skills.
- Wages: $9.50/hour
- Additional Information: Will need a laptop computer.

1Sky New Mexico/Regional Development Corporation:
Green Collar Jobs Coordinator, 6-month contract; full-time
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Job Qualifications:
The Regional Development Corporation is a non-profit 501 c3 economic development organization with a mission to provide leadership in regional economic development and diversification in alignment with local, statewide, and national initiatives that add long-term value to Northern New Mexico.
RDC is looking to contract with a qualified individual to work in a dynamic and emerging field that bridges economic development, sustainability and renewable energy.
Qualifications for the Green Collar Jobs Coordinator include:
- Possess knowledge of renewable energy industries and technologies, including energy efficiency and green building
- Must be articulate with strong public speaking skills
- Must have strong organizing skills and be able to work in a diverse setting
- Must have knowledge of New Mexico community colleges, municipalities, and Native American tribes
Other preferred qualifications include:
- Knowledge of NM Legislature
- Knowledge of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and Build Green NM
- Knowledge of Construction Industries Division (CID)
Specifically, this contract will:
- Create a unified and consistent message that highlights the strengths of New Mexico’s clean energy training programs;
- Help position New Mexico to apply for federal green jobs funding in 2009;
- Identify strengths, capacities, and needs in various areas of the state with the intention of creating regional training programs with distinct areas of expertise;
- Help recruit private investment in clean energy by creating a skilled workforce.
- Assist in drafting language for legislative bills that focus on Green Jobs initiatives
Requirements for this position include:
- Bachelors degree or higher
- 2-3 years work experience in relevant field
- Personal vehicle
- Able to begin work in July 2008
